We enjoyed a relaxing weekend at Cronulla ... spending time together, some quiet prayer time, walks in Royal National park and sharing delicious meals.

24 November ... Young Marists Enviro Walk
We organised the enviro walk for the Sydney Young Marists, walking from Spit Bridge to Manly, enjoying the magnificent harbour views, and picking up rubbish along the way.

Baabayn Beach Weekend ... 9-11 November
We assisted at the Baabayn beach weekend at Gerringong, taking kids to the beach, chatting with the families, helping to prepare and serve meals.
MLZ visits Mary MacKillop Place ... 1 November
An excursion to North Sydney to visit Mary MacKillop place was greatly enjoyed by students and staff. We enjoyed a play about Mary's life, a visit to her tomb, and a morning tea in the cafe to end the morning.
REMAR students visit MLZ ... October 19
A group of REMAR students from Trinity College Auburn visited MLZ to work with our students, accompanied by several staff members. It was a fund day with lots of activities, sports, games, quizzes. An enjoyable day for all.
Argie's birthday - October 8
We celebrated Argie's birthday with a delightful evening at Mexican Cantina in Surry Hills, Argie's favourite restaurant.
Adelaide ... Marist Association Assembly ... October 2-4
The gathering of 200 Marists at Sacred Heart College Adelaide for the Association affair was an enjoyable and significant occasion for us. We met many committed Marists over the two days of the Assembly. We also took the opportunity to visit Barossa and Clare Valley. Argie and Rodrigo stayed with Mexican friends, while Lawrie stayed in a nearby parish.

Visit from General Council
We were honoured by an extended visit from Brothers Juan Carlos, Ben Consigli and Ken McDonald, along with Peter Carroll. They spent some hours at MLZ, meeting staff and students and then proceeded to Varian Street for a meeting with the community.
Mexican Independence Day celebrated at Castle Hill parish
A splendid evening ... Spanish Mass, lots of food, singing and dancing, and of course the National Anthem sung with gusto.
3 August ... Mount Druitt Communities at Varian Street
Our fortnightly gathering with the Mound Druitt communities occurred at our place in early August. After celebrating Mass, we proceeded to a pleasant meal. Corned Beef on the menu was a big hit.
MLZ Official Opening July 30
After a ong wait of several years, Marist Learning Zone was officially opened and blessed on 30 July. Special guests included the Bishop (Vincent Long), Executive Director (Greg Whitby) and Provincial (Peter Carroll). Several of our students attended and participated in the ceremony.
