New Leader for MLZ ... October 20
Mr John Phillips, formerly a staff member at Parramatta Marist, has been appointed as the new head of Marist Learning Zone. He will bring many gifts toi the role, being a creative STEM teacher and a talented artist.This portrait was a finalist in the Archibald Art competition.
October 14 A Big Storm and Another Birthday
A severe hail storm hits Mount Druitt, damaging the roof of Westfield shopping centre. It is also Lawrie’s birthday.
Jeff Visits Silvia and Ruben on his birthday... 5 August
Jeff was in Spain and took the opportunity to visit Silvia and Ruben. A good birthday celebration happened!

Feast of Saint Ignatius
Father Greg kindly dropped in some Jesuit wine to help us celebrate the feast of St Ignatius. It may be recognition of the many hours Fabrício is spending producing the videos for the online parish Masses during lockdown.
Noy's Medicare Card
Now that Noy has permanent residence status, he is eligible for a medicare card, which will save on medical costs.
COVID Lockdown
School holidays arrived, but so did COVID. We were locked down until the end of August. Fabrício resumed work at MLZ at the start of Term 3, but Lawrie played it safe, locking down at home.
Celebrating Noy's Birthday
Noy celebrated his birthday on 24 June.
We celebrated at home of course. Here he is celebrating with some Filipino friends.

29 May Trip to Burralow Creek, Blue Mountains NP
Lawrie and Noynoy spend a cold but enjoyable camp at Burralow Creek. We also learn that Graeme Atkins will retire soon. The end of an era for MLZ.
30 April Visit of Kevin Hoare
Kevin Hoare stays with us for a few days. We are joined on Friday evening by Fr Greg, in his police chaplain uniform. Greg joins the community for a meal most Friday nights.
