We will be sad to see our Spanish Sisters (Sisters of Nazareth) return to their home country very soon. They hosted a Merry Friday gathering at their home, the last gathering at which they will be present. They have been a wonderful gift to us over the past few years.

25 May ... Visit of Raúl Figuera
Raúl Figuera, from the International Laity Commission visited us on May 25-26. He stayed with us overnight and enjoyed a visit to the Blue Mountains with Argie and Rodrigo the following day.
Easter Vacation ... Lawrie & Noy Tasmania Trip
During the Easter break, Lawrie and Noy drove to Melbourne, took the Spirit of Tasmania across Bass Strait and enjoyed a few days travelling around Tasmania.
Forbes Students Immersion ... 16 April
On April 16, a group of students from Forbes visited us as part of their Year 11 Immersion program. We were able to introduce them to the Baabayn community, where they organised an afternoon of games for the children.
14 April ... Visit of Br Reál
One of our valued Lavalla200> members, Br Reál, visited us in Mount Druitt on 14 April. He was in Sydney enrolee to Quebec for his annual leave. He was able to see both our community homes and Marist Learning Zone. It was a great joy to welcome Reál, as he was a member of our 2016 fraternity during the formation program in San Martino.
9 April ... Visit of East Timorese Postulants
We were pleased to welcome our postulants from East Timor, about to become novices. They are enroute to Sri Lanka to begin their Novitiate.
March - Argie's and Rodrigo's Trip to Mexico
The annual trip home for Argie and Rodrigo was a joyous occasion.Apart from seeing their families and meeting with the Mexican Marists, Rodrigo successfully presented his thesis, to achieve his Masters Degree. Well done. On the return trip, they passed through Japan.
Merry Friday Community Gatherings
These gatherings, held about every three weeks are an enjoyable connection we share with other communities in the parish. This gathering took place at Varian St on 1 March. Besides our community, there are in this photo Jesuits, Ursuline, Nazareth Sisters, MercySister, Christian Brother and a consecrated virgin.
March 1 - Sport at MLZ
As part of "caring for the whole person", sporting activities form an important part of our program at MLZ.

All of us enjoy nature and walking in the Australian bush. This outing was to Pulpit Rock in the Blue Mountains on 23 February
7 Feb 2019 - Br Tony Clark visits MLZ
It was a delight to welcome Br Tony, a member of Lavalla200>, to MLZ during his home stay. We took the opportunity to hear Tony speak of the Atlantis community and their work among the coloured community there.
January 2019 Vacation Experiences
Argie and Rodrigo travelled to New Zealand in January, Noy was with his family and friends in Philippines. Lawrie travelled south with Dave Hyndes for bushwalking in Kosciuszko National Park and the Victorian High country.
Christmas 2018
Noy celebrated Christmas with his family in Philippines, Argie and Rodrigo travelled to Springwood to celebrate with the Atkins family.
Sad News
Recently we heard of the death of Laurelle, Lawrie's niece, in a car accident. Lawrie travelled to Home Hill for the funeral, staying there until after Christmas. The photo below shows Lawrie and his siblings gathered for the wake after the funeral.
17 December ... MLZ end-of-year wind up
To celebrate another successful year at MLZ, we took an excursion to Glenbrook for a movie outing. Later, on our final day, we arranged a piñata and other fun activities.
Baabayn Christmas Party ... 15 December
We assisted with the annual Christmas Party for the Baabayn kids. Face painting was very popular, thanks to Argie and young Marist Monica Gonzales.
